User Options allow for user specific overrides of the system default settings defined in Sales Options, Shipping Options, and Purchasing Options. It enables users to override system default settings that relate to the features and functionality available to the user when entering sales orders, modifying sales order in Order Control and Shipping, and when entering purchases, purchase orders, receiving purchase orders, and completing purchase orders. Additional settings control which fields are visible and changeable in the sales order and purchase order headers. How items are entered on sales orders can also be set by user. These user overrides are designed to give each user access only to the features, forms, and update routines needed to perform their job duties; thus, reducing the number of steps and keystrokes needed to enter sales orders and purchase orders without limiting the capabilities of the Net•Yield system. User Security settings control which features and functions the user can access in the system over and above the User Option settings. The user can fine tune user options that were set by the supervisor during initial installation.
Options will only appear if they are set to Y (Y = Yes) in Sales Options, Shipping Options, or Purchasing Options.
User overrides of the system setting for totes and pallets found in both Shipping Options and Purchasing Options can be overridden by the user if the system setting for Totes and Pallets is set to Y (Y = Yes) in either or Shipping Options or Purchasing Options.
Purchase order form types set to Y (Y = Yes) in Purchasing Options can be overridden by the user when entering purchases, purchase orders, receiving purchase orders, and completing purchase orders. Sales order forms and shipping labels that are set to Y (Y = Yes) in Sales Options can be overridden by the user when entering a sales order, or modifying a sales order in Order Control and Shipping.
The features available to the user when finishing or updating a sales order in Sales Orders, Order Control or Shipping are assigned by the user. Which sales order and purchase order header fields are visible and changeable for a specific user are also set in User Options, as is the item entry selection method and screen column layout.
1. When you first enter the User Options function a Select A User window will appear displaying a list of users created in User Security. Select the user to view or change and press Enter.
2. Command options will appear: Change and Exit.
Select Change.
3. Use the Enter, Tab, or arrow keys to navigate to the field(s) that need to be changed. After you are finished making the necessary changes press the Tab, Enter, or Page Down key to move through the remaining fields.
4. Command options will appear: Change, Update, and Exit.
Best Practice: If you have changed a user setting, exit and then restart the system for the changes to take effect.
